One-third of the vines are over 60 years of age, with the balance being replanted 15 years ago. Fermented as whole clusters and very gently extracted, this has a forward aroma of ripe cherry fruit, a touch of carbonic and a hint of menthol. The texture is grippy and firm, with a slight astringency that will take a bit of ageing to resolve. This is an impressive wine that should cellar well. Drinking Window: 2024-2034. (Oct 2020)"

It is quite high-toned on the nose with Morello cherry, crushed strawberry and sea cave aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with very good depth, rather spicy with a liberal sprinkling of cracked black pepper on the vivacious finish. There is good persistency here - this is a superb Marsannay.
