92 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "I adore Sylvain Pataille’s wines, but rarely get a chance to drink them. His 2017 Marsannay Clos du Roy is fabulous with the chicken. Light in body, but with terrific savoriness from the whole clusters, the Marsannay has plenty of depth to match its understated, nuanced personality. What a gorgeous wine. Drink: 2019-2032. (Nov 2019)"
92 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Opening with aromas of plums, wild strawberries and blood orange mingling with lifted top notes of rose petals, peonies and warm spices, the 2017 Marsannay Clos du Roy is a medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered wine that's supple and textural, its enveloping core of fruit underpinned by rich but ripe tannins and succulent acids. Drink: 2022-2037. (Feb 2020)"
90-92 points and 'Outstanding/Top value,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A discreet application of wood sets off an earthy array of red and dark currant scents that are trimmed in plenty of floral and soft earth elements. The sleek, vibrant and utterly delicious medium weight flavors exhibit good minerality on the balanced, refreshing and lingering finish that is firm if not quite as structured as the Longeroies. This overtly stony effort is also very good and a wine that should amply reward a decade plus of cellaring. Drink: 2027+. (Jan 2019)"
