93 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "From a prime 0.17ha, east-facing parcel at the foot of the slope in Marsannay proper, this Chardonnay is fermented in cask (one-third new), on its the lees and aged for two years without bâtonnage. The resulting wine displays a lovely, exotic nose, showing aromas of tropical fruit, citrus and spice. The texture is dense, without being heavy, and the finish is surprisingly long. 91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2019 Marsannay Charmes Aux Prêtres, from vines adjacent to Pataille's parcel of Aligoté, was sampled directly from barrel. That influenced its creamy texture and seductive lemon curd, patisserie and vanilla notes. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, quite intense and powerful with gorgeous honeyed tones mixed with lemongrass on the finish. This is going to be marvelous. Drink: 2022-2032.
