Producer notes: "Planted in 2017 in the foothills of the Chalk Hill region, the vineyard sits in the morning fog of the Russian River that flows just 2 miles away. The soils here are classic chalk hill volcanic cobble, with chunks of white pumice, and dark basalt and obsidian. The cool mornings, breezy afternoons, and the loose volcanic soils make for a vibrant expression of Ribolla Gialla at low alcohol. The grapes were foot-tread before pressing, then fermented in stainless steel with native yeast and native malolactic bacteria. Aged in 2 neutral oak barrels for 9 months, minimal SO2 added at bottling. 61 cases produced."
