94 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "The 2017 Wiltinger Braune Kupp Spätlese (AP #4) is coolish, pure and stony on the crunchy and concentrated nose. Lush, sweet and round on the palate, with piquant, racy acidity and pervasive minerality, this is a complex and intense, lush and concentrated Spätlese with lingering salinity and a long, precise finish. A fabulous and promising Spätlese. Tasted in June 2019. Drink: 2030-2060. (Aug 2019)"

94 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "Seriously attractive orange blossoms on the nose. Plenty of ripe fruit on the palate, but this remains restrained and classical. The finish is long with plenty of mineral freshness. Drink or hold. (6/25/18)"

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "There are two Spätlesen from the Braune Kupp vineyard this year, with one being earmarked for sale at the auctions in Trier. This is the regular bottling that will be available through the trade and it is really lovely, with just a blush of botrytis adding a nice glaze to its aromatic and flavor elements. The complex nose offers up scents of white cherries, lime blossoms, bee pollen, a touch of fresh mint, lovely slate undertow and a topnote of white flowers. On the palate the wine is pure, fullish and quite suave on the attack, with excellent focus and balance, vibrant acids and very good length and grip on the zesty and complex finish. This will be delicious to drink from the outset, but will age very nicely as well. 2018-2045. (May/Jun 2018)"

93 points Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 04 18. The 2017er Wiltinger braune Kupp develops a beautifully creamy nose of melon, pear, apricot blossom, bergamot and smoke slate. The ripe and richer side comes through on the palate, where apricot blossom and tangerine mingle with delicately creamy pear, melon and vineyard peach. The finish is fully fruity and a great touch of smoky slate and minerals comes through in the mouthwatering after-taste. This is beautifully made in a comparatively direct and easy style. 2027-2047. (Jun 2018)"
