95 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "Usually considered one of the great wines, both of Burgundy and of Chambolle-Musigny, this was a controversial bottle at the tasting. Complex it most certainly is, but there are notes of dried mushroom as well as horse stables here. That apart, Freddy Mugnier’s red has sweet berry fruits and a backdrop of tannin with appealing oak spice. Drinking Window: 2018-2024. (Jan 2018)"

95 points John Kapon (Vintage Tastings): "A 2001 Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses was Mugnier and Amoureuses at its finest, just stunning. 2001 is another vintage that’s drinking oh so well at the moment, but I think they might last longer than people think and border on the best of other vintages for years to come. Delicate with a perfect core of mixed red fruits and strong, clean wood qualities, the ’01 went down way too easily. I can’t help mentioning every time I have an Amoureuses its true definition – two female lovers. (9/6/11)"

93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "This first-rate effort is approaching its peak with a positively gorgeous nose of spice, mature and highly complex secondary fruit aromas that evidence obvious stone hints that continue onto the elegant, pure and precise medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a silky and strikingly persistent finish. This is a stunning, and entirely classic, Amoureuses that is classy and exceptionally stylish. Note that I have had a fair amount of bottle variation with this wine and while it's never poor, it ranges from very good to what I have described above. Note further that for my taste this has arrived at its peak though it should be capable of holding here for another decade. Drink: Now+. (Jul 2015)"

93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Medium red. Captivating aromas of raspberry, minerals, coffee and mint. Fat and rich, with a pungent raspberry flavor and lovely texture and sweetness for the year. Completely different in palate feel from the Bonnes-Mares and a step up in lushness from the foregoing samples. Finishes with fine, broad tannins and excellent grip and length. A beauty. (Mar/Apr 2004)"
