98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The translucent 2017 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is another magical 2017 from this estate. Bright cherry, framboise, sappy flowers, menthol, and spice box notes all emerge from the glass, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a tight, backward texture and a great finish. It needs 4-5 years of bottle age, but it’s a gorgeous wine that’s getting close to the top of my scale. (11/24/20)"

96+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2017 Mugneret Clos Vougeot is also stellar in this vintage. The complex and very pure bouquet offers up a refined constellation of plums, red and black cherries, raw cocoa, a complex base of soil, violets, mustard seed and cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and beautifully soil-driven, with a sappy core, great focus and grip and a very long, very elegant and ripely tannic, seamless finish. This has vibrancy and breed to burn! 2030-2090. (Nov/Dec 2018)"

96 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2017 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a lovely bouquet that unfurls from the glass to reveal raspberry, hints of dark chocolate, cedar and undergrowth; there is a touch of mintiness here. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and beautifully balanced with vivid red berry fruit, plus a liberal sprinkling of white pepper on the finish. Excellent. Drink: 2023-2042. (Jan 2020)"

95.5 points CellarTracker.com community score.

95 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "Well situated close to the château itself, this comes from two separate parcels and is consistently one of the best renditions of this large grand cru. It's a comparatively forward, supple style with 70% new oak adding vanilla spice to a palate that's savoury and smooth, with some fig and summer berry fruit. 2024-2029. (Oct 2018)"

95 points Fine Wine Review: "Last, the Clos-Vougeot shows purity in its black and red raspberry fruit, length, quality tannins, and depth. An outstanding representative of this vineyard that does not deserve its status as less fashionable than in other eras. (3/29/20)"
