93-95 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2016 Corton les Renardes Grand Cru had just a tiny bit of reduction on the nose, although underneath lies plenty of red berry fruit laced with woodland/autumn leaf aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, very well balanced, the most elegant and sophisticated of Mallard’s Grand Crus with a wonderful saline finish that just keeps going and going. Give this 2 or 3 years for the nose to open, and you will have a stupendous Corton les Renardes. Drink: 2021-2040. (Dec 2017)"

93-95 points Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The 2016 vintage is a year that offers more concentration and intensity – qualities evident in this Renardes from Mallard. The 2016 is powerful and intense – coming from a 0.75-ha plot. The nose offers mineral/earth notes and floral aromas of ripe cassis and red cherries. There is a wonderful sense of vivaciousness to this delightful and powerful wine. It’s long, refined and elegant – but needs time! Drink from 2029. Very Fine+. (5/23/19)"

93 points Tim Atkin, MW.

93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A gentle hint of wood sets off even fresher if brooding and more animale, earth and floral-inflected aromas of ripe cassis and red cherry scents. There is a wonderful sense of verve to the overtly powerful, intense and well-muscled big-bodied flavors that culminate in a gorgeously persistent finish that offers excellent complexity and balance on the clearly built-to-age finish. Drink: 2033+. (Apr 2019)"

93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2016 Corton-Renardes Grand Cru has a bright, elegant and almost understated bouquet that delivers red cherry and crushed strawberry scents mixed with wet limestone and a touch of spice. It gains intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and finely-tuned acidity, smooth in texture with lovely red cherry, raspberry and allspice notes towards the harmonious finish. There is a completeness to this Corton that I appreciate. Excellent. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting. Drink: 2022-2042. (Oct 2019)"
