96-99 points Jasper Morris, MW: "The main bottling of Clos de la Roche comes from plots in Monts Luisants (2/3) and Fremières (1/3) The colour impresses with its deep core of crimson purple. There is a very light reduction to the nose before the raspberries start to come out with aeration. This is gorgeously sensual on the palate, and ticks all the boxes: elegance/finesse/density/ freshness. It will be very hard to beat this! (Nov 2020)"

98 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "Produced from old-vine fruit from Monts Luisants giving tiny yields. Produced with about one-third whole clusters and one-third new casks for ageing, the wine opens with a complex nose showing black cherry fruit and a savoury, almost gamey edge. The initial impression on the palate is silky and accessible, but the tannin here is immense, although very fine-grained. There is impressive freshness and a finish that goes on and on. Lovely. A superb Clos de la Roche. Drinking Window: 2029-2049. (Oct 2020)"

96-98 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2019 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru comes from the two terroirs, the majority from Mont Luisants and one-third from Fremières. The vines were planted in the Sixties and the late Fifties respectively. It has a beautifully defined bouquet with black cherries, raspberry, briary and rose petal aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, concentrated as you would expect since it was cropped at around 25hl/ha with wonderful minerality on the finish. Outstanding. Drink: 2025-2050. (Dec 2020)"

95-97 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2019 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is very promising, wafting from the glass with notes of blackcurrants, cherries and wild berries mingled with notions of loamy soil, orange rind, warm spices and new oak. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it's lively and concentrated, with ultra-refined tannins and terrific depth at the core, concluding with a long, saline finish. (Jan 2021)"
