95-97 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2016 Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru comes from Mazoyères and includes 25% new oak and one-third whole cluster fruit. It has a sensual bouquet that is as much Charmes as Mazoyères, well defined and very elegant, not a million miles away from Denis Bachelet in style. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine thread of acidity, very pure in style with a saline finish that gets the taste buds going. This is a wonderful Charmes Chambertin that should give 20 years of drinking pleasure. Drink: 2021-2045. (Dec 2017)"

95+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "As much as I like the 2016 Griotte here this year, the Charmes is a step up and this is one of the best young vintages of this bottling I have ever tasted from the domaine. The bouquet is flat out stunning, soaring from the glass in a complex blend of plus, red and black cherries, grilled meats, a complex base of soil, mustard seed, cedar and a pungent topnote of roses. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bdoied, complex and very suave on the attack, with lovely soil signature, a sappy core and a very, very long, seamlessly-tannic finish. Great juice. 2028-2080. (Nov/Dec 2017)"

92-95 points Fine Wine Review: "The Charmes-Chambertin is raised in a cask that is one year-old — no new wood on this wine. It has dark and red raspberry fruit with a bit of syrup quality to it. The wine is powerful, long, elegant, and fresh. (8/6/19)" 94+ points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2016 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a refined, floral bouquet that seems quite open at the moment, pure wild strawberry mixed with raspberry preserve, crushed stone and light rose petal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannin, quite linear in style with a touch of spice towards the persistent finish. I feel this will soon begin to close up, so wait for several years. It has to prove that it will live up to the billing it showed out of barrel. Tasted at the Domaine. Drink: 2022-2040. (Oct 2019)"
