92-96 points Jasper Morris, MW: "30% whole bunch which is more than in the past. He thinks it opens it up somewhat. 100% new wood. Dense mid purple. No nose at all to begin with. A significant round ball of fruit and then the whole bunch arrives to change the finish, stretch it out a little. I cannot quite see the full majesty of Richebourg though. Pretty good concentration nonetheless and the oak is balanced. (Nov 2018)"

It's an impressive old-vine cuvée made from a parcel planted in 1931. Less toasty than the 2016 was at the same stage, this has lots of plush, textured fruit, some peppery spice and nuanced tannins.
