91-93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2018 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Frionnes was showing brilliantly, soaring from the glass with notes of pear, lemon oil, wheat toast and iodine. Medium to full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, it's layered and complete, with lively acids and a long, precise finish. At 13.8% alcohol, this is one of the riper wines in the cellar, yet that was imperceptible when I tased it. (Feb 2020)"
90-92 points and 'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A more restrained and quite cool nose features notes of essence of pear, spiced apple and lemongrass. The racy and beautifully delineated medium-bodied flavors are borderline painfully intense while delivering an abundance of minerality on the bone-dry and youthfully austere finale. Good stuff with aging potential. Drink: 2026+. (Jun 2020)"
90-92 points Jasper Morris, MW: "The limestone in Les Frionnes is much more decomposed than Clos de Meix. There is a touch of reduction in the gunflint style. This is really tight, lots of energy, just not quite in place yet but I adore the finish. Very dense. (Oct 2019)"
91 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "[$81 list] The 2018 Saint-Aubin Les Frionnes 1er Cru retains the estuarine scents that I picked out from barrel but they have shut down since bottling. Quite viscous on the palate with praline and lemon curd. The tropical fruit in this Frionnes that was hidden last year, have come to the fore, rendering it almost Chenin Blanc-like. Drink: 2023-2040. (Dec 2020)"
