95 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Clear mid lemon. There is plenty of fruit immediately apparent but holding itself in restraint. Then it starts to build, offering a volume here that we have not seen before unless perhaps in 2009. Superbly nuanced too, each sniff adding a little touch of something. As much floral as on the fruit, while the palate adds salinity and even a touch of tannin. Crunchy and very long. To keep. Tasted: February 2022."

90-93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "There is a hint of matchstick character that melds with the fresh citrus and white orchard fruit aromas. I very much like the underlying sense of tension to the almost painfully intense medium-bodied flavors that also possess a borderline aggressive salinity before culminating in a strikingly persistent and quite firmly structured finale. Note that at least some patience will be required for this to unwind as it’s presently very tightly wound. Drink: 2022+. (Jun 2016)"

92+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2014 vintage of Derriere du Chez Edouard from Domaine Lamy is just about ready for primetime drinking and is showing beautifully on both the nose and palate today. The bouquet delivers a fine combination of apple, pear, lemon zest, a touch of youthful iodine, chalky minerality, spring flowers and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is crisp, bright and full, with a good core, lovely mineral drive, fine focus and grip and a long, energetic and mineral-driven finish. Fine, fine juice in the making, 2020-2045. (May/Jun 2019)"

92+ points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Aromas of pineapple, baked bread and lees, plus a suggestion of iodiney minerality. Then riper, sweeter and less salty in the mouth than the Frionnes but with penetrating acidity giving the mid-palate almost painful cut in the early going. The pure, bracing, building finish shows terrific cut. This will be long-lived for Saint-Aubin. Drink: 2019-2027. (Sep 2016)"

90-92 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2014 Saint Aubin 1er Cru Derrière Chez Edouard has a lifted bouquet with plenty of nascent energy: citrus peel, Granny Smith apples, almond and grapefruit that is just beautifully defined. The palate is poised on the entry, with bitter lemon and lemongrass, demonstrating fine weight in the mouth and a long, quite piercing spicy finish that sports an Alsace-like persona (in a positive way). What an intriguing Saint Aubin! Drink: 2017-2029. (Dec 2015)"
