93 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Pale lemon colour, a whiff of oak, a nice sunny touch to this wine, well balanced, an extra layer of fruit on the palate, just a tickle of minerality behind. About 20% down in yield here, demonstrating Olivier’s theory that this level of production constitutes the sweet spot for the vintage. (Jan 2018)"

90-92 points and 'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(worked entirely by hand as the vineyard has a 40% slope which ensures that it receives plenty of sun). An admirably pure and cool array exhibits distilled notes of green apple, citrus and white floral nuances. There is good mid-palate density to the rich and relatively round flavors that exude both salinity and minerality on the long if ever-so-slightly less complex finale. Drink: 2022+. (Jun 2018)"

90-92 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2016 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Clos de la Chatenière, which originates from a parcel with a more southerly exposure compared to others farmed by Olivier Lamy, has a clean and precise bouquet with white peach, orange pith and subtle aniseed scents. The palate is very well balanced with more depth and fruit intensity than the Les Frionnes, touches of tangerine and white peach laced with bitter lemon, leading to a harmonious and quite long finish. Excellent. Drink: 2019-2029. (Dec 2017)"

91+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2016 Clos de la Chatenière from Domaine Lamy is also a lovely wine, but it is more open and ready to go out of the blocks than the last couple of premier crus in the tasting. The bouquet delivers a fine blend of apple, tangerine, chalk, fresh almond, vanillin oak and acacia blossoms in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full, succulent and very nicely balanced, with a good core and a long, complex and zesty finish. This will be the premier cru in the cellars this year to drink first. 2018-2035. (Mar/Apr 2018)"
