95 points Tim Atkin, MW: "Hail-affected yields were still down at this iconic domaine in 2014, but the quality is undiminished. This comes from a bony-soiled vineyard with classic, chalky finesse and red fruit sweetness, supported by a nip of tannin. Classic Volnay. 2017-24."

91-95 points Fine Wine Review.

92+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Mitans is usually the most black fruity premier cru in the Lafarge cellars when young, but the 2014 shares the red fruity personality of this vintage here. The lovely nose delivers a fine constellation of strawberries, cherries, gamebirds, chalky soil tones, roses, a touch of mustard seed and again, that nice gentle topnote of woodsmoke on the breeze. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very precise, with a lovely core of fruit, lovely focus and grip, tangy acids, fine-grained tannins and a long, transparent and quite energetic finish. I could see this wine ending up very 1966-like in the fullness of time. 2024-2060. (Nov/Dec 2015)"
