93 points James Suckling: "Dense and rich red for the vintage with plums, dried strawberries, dark chocolate and spices. Full-bodied, layered and displaying a caressing mouthfeel. Flavorful and intense finish. Savory and minerally. Better in 2017. (2/8/15)"

93 points and 'Editors' Choice,' Wine Enthusiast: "The small parcel of vines that makes up Providence has proven to be a stunning piece of Pomerol. This wine is all richness and structure, with a solid density and black plum fruits cut with acidity. It's generous, full in the mouth, solid with tannins at the back and opulent with fruit at the front. Drink from 2022. Alcohol 13.5%. (May 2015)"

92 points Robert Parker: "Dense ruby/purple with fleshy black cherry and black currant fruit, some licorice and incense, this opulent, medium to full-bodied wine displays terrific purity, a subtle dosage of background oak, and earth. Maybe even a hint of truffle can be found in this complex, high-class Pomerol to drink over the next 20 years. This is a beauty and another great example of what heights Pomerol achieved in this vintage. Drink: 2015-2035. (Apr 2015)"

92 points Wine Spectator: "Very polished, with ripe and pure plum and boysenberry coulis flavors tinged with anise and black tea details. The long finish builds steadily and slowly, fleshing out with air and showing extra roasted apple wood and plum cake notes. Almost approachable now, but this may improve in the cellar. Best from 2017 through 2027. 625 cases made. (3/31/15)"

92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2012 Providence is a very good example of the vintage, but it does not seem to have quite the same effortless mid-palate concentration of the best wines of the vintage and probably did not ripen quite as well as the very top Pomerols in this year. The nose is currently quite marked by its spicy new wood, but not excessively so, as it offers up scents of black raspberries, pomegranate, tobacco leaf, espresso, dark soil and aforementioned cedary wood. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, pure and impressively silky on the attack, with a good, but not great core, fine focus and a long, nascently complex and ripely tannic finish. The wood is subsumed nicely on both the nose and palate here once the wine has sat in the glass for a while and I have no doubts that it will integrate smoothly with bottle age. This is a very, very good wine, but not quite in the league of the best Pomerols in 2012. 2022-2050. (Mar/Apr 2013)"
