93 points Decanter: "Gently smoked coffee beans accompany the first nose, infusing the creamy damson and black cherry fruit. Packed full of plush and velvety Pomerol tannins, muscled and confident overall. You are not going to mistake where you are with this wine, great appellation signature and overall a highly successful Croix de Gay, from the Raynaud-Lebreton family. A yield of 39hl/ha. Axel Marchal consultant for first time as of 2019 vintage. Drinking Window: 2025-2042. (May 2020)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "Features a solid core of dark currant, fig and blackberry preserve flavors, backed by hints of alder, tobacco and Turkish coffee that lend this a slightly rustic persona in the end. For fans of gutsy Pomerol. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2022 through 2032. 1,451 cases made. (3/31/20)"
92 points James Suckling: "Attractive aromas of ripe blueberries, salted plums, chocolate, praline and dried lavender. It’s medium-to full-bodied with creamy, silky tannins. Polished and juicy with fresh citrus notes on the finish. Drink after 2023. (2/20/22)"
91 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "A blend of 97% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, aged 16 months in barrels, this has a pretty nose, filled with lightly grained fruit and fragranced with sandalwood, incense and dried rose petals, as well as a hint of sandy minerality. The palate starts off with a delicately silky and medium-bodied style, low impact but elegant, and quite svelte, with veins of cedary sandalwood, black pepper and menthol, while in the finish it shows more mettle with a dry tannic grip. It has the structure to develop well in the cellar, and with time it should show greater integration. Tasted twice. The declared alcohol is 14.5%. (Dec 2021)"
