93 points Stephen Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "The 2018 Nierstein Ölberg Riesling 'GG' is clear and flinty on the slightly untamed but open and elegant, slightly crunchy/stony as well as herbal nose. Round and juicy on the palate, this is a rich and powerful, very intense and finely tannic Riesling with a still somewhat untamed but elegant character. Long. Tasted at the domaine in March 2020. Drink: 2021-2036. (May 2020)"
93 points David Schildknecht (Vinous): "[$85 list] Musky, fusel and bittersweetly gentian- and iris-like floral notes on the nose anticipate the intriguing multiplicity of flavors delivered on a flatteringly silken-textured, full but by no means heavy palate. As witnessed in a number of the wines that preceded this one in Gillot’s vintage 2018 lineup, welcome limey juiciness emerges midpalate and carries animatingly and refreshingly into a finish lent richness by appealing influxes of almond and white peach, and further intrigue by stone, coriander and linseed accents. There’s lots of sensual appeal here as well as flat-out refreshment. This unexpectedly surpasses its vintage 2017 predecessor by a significant margin. Drink: 2020-2030. (Nov 2020)"
