90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(made with two-thirds whole clusters): Vivid ruby-red. Expressive red berry and floral aromas are enlivened by zesty mineral and spice notes and a hint of orange pith. Vibrant and precise on the palate, offering juicy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and a touch of candied rose. Finishes spicy and long, with building sweetness and silky, even tannins. (May/Jun 2014)"

90 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2012 Pinot Noir (Anderson Valley) wraps around the palate with gorgeous depth. Cranberry, pomegranate, sweet spices and roses meld together in an expressive, resonant Pinot with tons of appeal and pure texture. What a pretty wine this is. Drink: 2014-2018. (Feb 2014)"

Producer notes: "All estate fruit from Cerise and Demuth grapes. Extremely fragrant, showing darker black cherry than 2011, spicy carnation, enveloped in an earthereal foreground. A gently sweet mouthfeel and elegant weight followed by beautiful flavors that echo the aromas in the mid-palate and finish, showing more spicy red fruit. The tannins are apparent due to the effect this powerful vintage had on our estate. With this vintage we've harnessed the best of two worlds, matching the power of 2012 with balance and restraint in alcohol and tannic presence, which we've come to be known for. Creating an overall sound and pleasing supple tannin profile with well integrated acid. Best over the next 8+ years."
