As with other Becker 2016s – and the more so here due to the presence of significant residual sugar – any tendency for the stony and ashen notes that well-up in this wine’s finish to bend it in an austere direction is squelched by succulent, juicy fruitiness, here further enhanced by piquant hints of orange peel and raw hazelnut.
