94 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "The second wine in this line up from the Borie family (although the property has of course since been sold to the Cazes family), this is a wine which seems at this moment to punch some way above its weight. It has a dark appearance in the glass, with lots of great colour, in particular the dark oxblood notes seen in the thin rim, which sits around a dense core. It has an intriguing nose, surprisingly floral, with scents of crushed rose petals intertwined with those of dried blackcurrant, juniper, rosewood, pencil shavings and incense. Then comes the palate, fresh and delicately poised, gently sinewy, with a cool and tense but rather finessed grip. It feels lightly textured, with pithy substance and a surprisingly long finish. While the tannic structure feels integrated and largely resolved, the wine still has energy, freshness and apparently a sense of youth. While this is drinking well now, with the backbone to stand up to many dishes, I am sure it has some years of softening evolution in it yet. (Nov 2020)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "Attractive chocolate, berry and currant aromas follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate, with medium fine tannins and a pretty berry, chocolate aftertaste. Seriously good value. Best wine from this estate in decades. Best after 2009. (3/31/03)"
92 points Richard Jennings: "Good roasted fruit nose; tasty, balanced, with lots of glycerin and sweet tannins, soft and elegant; medium finish. (5/29/04)"
