From a large vineyard, with soils of gravel and clay, the blend in this vintage is 65% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc. It is a dark wine with a fairly broad raspberry-crimson rim. The nose is quite elegantly perfumed, with crushed summer berry fruits, blackcurrants and cherries with a leafy freshness. A rather full, structured, boldly composed palate, with a core of savoury fruit at its heart, peppery and spicy, with cherry, blackcurrant and green olive wrapped up in a band of tightly grained tannins. Vigorous and energetic, with fresh acidity, in keeping with the style of the vintage, this has nice potential. (Jun 2020)"
