92+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2018 Sancerre 'les Monts Damnés' from Anthony and David Girard is an excellent young wine, with the profound base of minerality of this great terroir front and center on both the nose and palate. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a youthful blend of fresh lime, gooseberry, complex limestone minerality, lovely botanicals, citrus peel and a bit of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and mineral-driven, with a superb core of fruit, a very good girdle of acidity for the vintage, lovely focus and grip and a long, pure and nascently complex finish. As the acids here are not snappy, the wine can already be drunk with great pleasure, but there are many more layers of complexity to unfold here with a few years in the cellar. First class Monts Damnés! 2020-2035. (May/Jun 2020)"
91 points and '#93 Enthusiast 100 2019,' Wine Enthusiast: "A light touch of spice from partial wood fermentation has added to the richness of this wine. That is balanced against the steely edge of acidity and minerality. This wine is almost ready but will be better from early 2020. (Oct 2019)"
