93 points Wine & Spirits: "Designed as a blend of two vintages, in this case near-equal amounts of 2014 and ’15, Expression is focused on red grapes (35 percent each pinot noir and meunier). Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy enriches the wine’s freshness with reserves that he stores in oak foudres. The combination is smooth and sophisticated, with ripe flavors of crisp apples over a supple texture. The finish is pale and chalky, leaving a clean, fresh feel. (Dec 2020)"

92 points Tyson Stelzer (The Champagne Guide): "(2014 base vintage; disgorged September 2018; 29% chardonnay, 36% pinot, 35% meunier; 47% reserves of the previous blend; aged 3.5 years on lees; 6g/L dosage; 60,000 bottles, of which 15,000 are Pureté). Geoffroy describes Expression as his base wine, equal to the production of his eight other cuvées and three Coteaux Champenois put together. His aspiration here is easy-drinking freshness, ‘to appeal to everyone’. It rises to the brief in a beautifully spicy expression of the voluptuous black grapes of Cumières, brimming with blackberries, raspberries and mixed spice. Ginger-cake complexity of lees age has built a creamy structure, while upholding the grapefruit-pith bite of very subtle, fine phenolic grip, textured salt minerality and vibrant, lingering acidity. Malic tension is well gauged to counter the luscious mood of Cumières, confirming a cuvée of fruit integrity and poise. (2020-2021)"

92 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "[$63 list] The NV Brut Expression is a beautiful wine. A fine line of acidity runs through the Expression, lending notable brightness and cut throughout. Orchard fruit, spice, mint and dried flowers are all beautifully delineated in a Champagne that impresses for its transparency and cut. I loved it. This release is a blend of 2015 and 2014. Dosage is 5 grams per liter. Disgorged: December, 2019. Drink: 2020-2028. (Nov 2020)"

92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A pretty and beautifully layered nose speaks of toasty, yeasty and brioche-suffused aromas that are liberally cut with citrus, green apple and floral hints. There is both excellent richness and volume to the delicious and full-bodied, as well as full-flavored, flavors that possess excellent complexity on the notably dry but not at all austere finale. This is a big Champagne in the sense that it's full-on and delivers outstanding length but if your taste does not run to linear, lean and ultra-crisp examples, then this would be a really good alternative for you to consider. I quite like this but if refinement and delicacy are what you want, there are better choices. Drink: now+. (Oct 2017)"

91 points James Suckling: "Lots of apple and brioche aromas and flavors. Full body. Creamy and layered. Very fruity and crafted. Decadent and flavorful in the end. Drink now. (9/2/19)"

91 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The new release of Champagne Geoffroy’s “Expression” non-vintage Brut is from the base year of 2016, with this bottle having been disgorged in December of 2020. All of the fruit for this bottling hails from the family’s vines in Cumières and Hautvillers. The cépages is thirty-five percent each of pinot noir and pinot meunier, augmented by thirty percent chardonnay, but of course, half of this cuvée is composed from the solera started by Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy’s father all the way back in 1970. The wine delivers a fine aromatic constellation of white peach, almond, brioche, chalky soil tones and a lovely array of delicate meunier floral tones in the upper register. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and still youthfully snappy, with a fine core and soil signature, pinpoint bubbles, fine focus and a long, complex and zesty finish. This is young, but tasty right now. It will be an even better drink if tucked away in the cellar for a few years to let those acids soften up a bit more on the backend. 2021-2035+. (Sept/Oct 2021)"

90 points Alison Napjus (Wine Spectator): "This creamy sparkler offers flavors of Asian pear, biscuit and pickled ginger, with a minerally, smoke- and chalk-laced underpinning, all backed by well-cut acidity and ending with a snappy finish. Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Drink now. (11/15/2021)"
