95 points Falstaff Guide: "Bright, radiant ruby red with brightening on the rim. Expressive nose of wild berries, elderberries, also floral, then eucalyptus, plus fine spice, then black tea on the finish. The compact palate is juicy, with dense tannins, multi-layered, energetic, salty finish. (10/7/22)"

94 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "Seamlessly stitched together, the G.D. Vajra 2018 Barolo Ravera reveals tight layering and smooth texture. Fruit comes from an amphitheater of vines with Tortoniana epoch sandstone clay that is typical of parts of Barolo and Novello. What stands out here is the mineral character of the wine. It frames a dark core of plum, dark cherry and soft spice. Drink: 2024-2040. (Aug 2022)"

94 points Wine & Spirits: "[$95 list] This wine shows a darker and more savory profile than Vajra’s Costa di Rose, its black-cherry flavors tinged with notes of licorice and tobacco. Scents of lavender and violet lend a delicate touch to the wine, which continued to gain verve and freshness with time in the glass. (Dec 2022)"

93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2018 Barolo Ravera is a powerful, tightly wound wine. Gravel, smoke, cured meats, spice, leather, tobacco and menthol emerge, but only with quite a bit of reticence. This deceptively mid-weight Barolo has a good bit of brawn. It will be interesting to see if the fruit emerges from behind the tannins. Drink: 2026-2043. (Feb 2022)"
