97 points Anne Krebiehl, MW (Decanter): "Promising, flinty reduction for now fills the nose, but underneath it the perfumes of crushed redcurrant and heady violet begin to work their scented magic. On the palate the fruit and perfume of Pinot Noir unfurl like a bale of shiny silk. Yet there is a firm, stony anchor while the inherent elegance of the Triassic red sandstone frames the generosity of 2018 perfectly. This steep, stony, terraced site demands back-breaking work and single-minded dedication. Sebastian and Paul Fürst lavish both - and they know how to use whole bunches to maximum effect. A glorious wine. Drinking Window: 2025-2050. (Aug 2020)"

97 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "What a complex nose with a stunning interplay of mint and rosemary with tons of forest berries. Super concentrated and super structured, but still sleek and very straight. Stunning minerality at the very long finish. Drink or hold. (9/16/20)"

95-97 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "The 2018 Schlossberg Spätburgunder GG is highly refined and elegant on the crystalline and peppery nose, very fine and pure and provided with dark and red berry as well as ripe cherry aromas intertwined with spicy notes and a touch of toast and oak. Seamless. Juicy but refined on the palate, with great intensity, energy and finesse, this is a full-bodied, tight and fruit-intense yet pure and silky-textured, vibrantly fresh and mineral Pinot with fine tannins, great tension and enormous length. Although the vines are much younger (but French genetics) than in the Hundsrück, this Schlossberg from Klingenberg has the same energy and tension but more finesse and less power and length than the sibling from Bürgstadt. All in all, this is a highly promising Pinot Noir and the most complex Schlossberg Fürst has ever produced. Tasted as a sample in January and April 2020. Drink: 2021-2038. (Aug 2020)"
