95 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "[$115/750ml list] The 2018 Barolo Monvigliero shows a beautiful signature of pressed violets, rose garden, white stone, crushed peppercorn and grilled rosemary. The wine is smooth and soft in texture, yet it feels stitched up and firm at the back thanks to the support it gets from those balanced tannins. This wine should hold 20 years or more. Drink: 2024-2040. (Aug 2022)"

95 points Kerin O'Keefe (Wine Enthusiast): "Heady aromas of camphor, rose petal and red forest berry come to the forefront along with whiffs of pipe tobacco and new leather. Full-bodied but refined and well-balanced, the savory palate features ripe Marasca cherry, crushed raspberry, licorice and mint alongside velvety tannins and fresh acidity. Drink 2026–2033. Alcohol 15%. (Sep 2022)"

95 points Wine & Spirits: "[$120 list] This elegant and spicy Barolo offers flavors of soft stawberry and cherry laced with notes of fennel bulb, sweet basil and white pepper. The tannins feel cool and polished, contributing to the overall impression of finesse and the immediate appeal of this wine. (2022)"

93 points Susan Hulme (The Wine Independent): "The 2018 Fratelli Alessandria Barolo Monvigliero has an appealing, youthful, blueish tone. Aromas are very sweet at first with a top notes of coconut oak spice with lots of ripe cherry and fragrant fruit. On the palate the first impression is soft, round and gentle and the medium-bodied tannins are light and pleasantly grippy. There's a crunchy green herb note in the middle that reminds me of the 2018 vintage but which adds to the range of flavors and offsets the ripe red fruit notes. Leave 2 years, and drink for 15 to 20. Alcohol 15%. Drink: 2024-2042. (7/13/22)"
