97 points Bettane & Desseauve Guide 2022: "Convincing alliance of perfectly ripe fruit without excess and spicier nuances (white pepper), here is a great Chablis wine, in majesty and balance. Its power equals many great vintages and its persistence is diabolical. Irresistible."

95 points/'Le Coup de Coeur' La Revue du Vin de France: "The marly soil brings density and salinity to the Vaulorent, which combines freshness, size and impressive structure. (2022).

94+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Cropped at a mere 34 hectoliters per hectare, the 2019 Chablis 1er Cru Vaulorent is superb, unwinding in the glass with notes of citrus oil, crisp green orchard fruit, white peach, iodine and pastry cream. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with racy acids and a long, iodine-inflected finish, it's the most complete premier cru in the range. Drink: 2025-2050. (Aug 2021)"

92-94 points Jasper Morris MW (Inside Burgundy): "Lots of marl here, good for the weight of fruit and the acidity, as it keeps the, soil cooler. The nose is quite restrained and refined, but the wine starts to sing on the palate, the promised acidity along with real weight of fruit., some ripe citrus along with a bit of grenadine. (July 2020)"

91-94 points/'Sweet spot,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(rom a huge 3.63 ha parcel out of only 17 ha and most of it is hard by Les Preuses. Séguier calls this their "baby grand cru" as specific barrels are selected for vine age, concentration and power). This could be from nowhere else but Chablis with its equally cool, elegant and airy aromas of white-fleshed fruit, floral, iodine and subtle passion fruit-scanted nose. The super-sleek, refined and energetic medium weight flavors possess both ample minerality and a caressing texture, all wrapped in a slightly more complex, very dry and impressively long finale. Lovely. Drink: 2026+. (Nov 2020)"

16.5 points Julia Harding MW (JancisRobinson.com): "40–50% fermented in French oak barrels (aged 6 years on average). The remainder is vinified in small stainless-steel vats. Aged 14–16 months, of which 5 to 6 months on fine lees in French oak barrels for 40 to 50% of the harvest. The end of maturation occurs in small stainless-steel vats. Tank sample.). The remainder is vinified in small stainless-steel vats. Aged 13–14 months, of which 5 to 6 months on fine lees in French oak barrels for 40 to 50% of the harvest. The end of maturation occurs in small stainless-steel vats. Tank sample. More stony/mineral in aroma, lightly herbal citrus. The oak is very gentle and well-integrated, creamy texture complements the stony flavour on the palate, though there’s citrus as it opens. Good length, too. (Dec 2020)"
