94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2017 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru brings together tremendous textural richness with striking layers of floral brightness and minerality that add complexity. Powerful and yet wonderfully finessed, the 2017 possesses superb energy and vibrancy, with pedigree to burn. Drink: 2022-2032. (Jan 2020)"

94 points James Suckling: "Very attractive aromas of ripe white and yellow peaches here with a gently glossy edge and lightly toasty and flinty nuances. The palate has such richness and composure with a fleshy, smooth build to the long, lemon and peach-soaked finish. Bracing. Drink or hold. (8/14/19)"

93 points Andy Howard, MW (Decanter): "Vaillons, from the left bank of the Serein river, usually combines crisp acidity with floral notes and an attractive stoned fruit flavour profile. Softer, and a little less precise than the Fourchaume, this displays peach and crisp apple fruit notes allied with roundness and warmth on the palate. Although approachable relatively early, this Vaillons has good concentration and the structure to age. Drinking Window: 2020-2025. (Feb 2020)"

92-93 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Very much white flowers, elderflower even, this was racked much earlier than Montmains so is more open for tasting. It displays a brilliant sense of precision, demonstrating the drier style of Vaillons, with medium-plus intensity and excellent length. Tasted: May 2018."

92 points Michael Edwards (The World of Fine Wine): "Beautiful Welsh gold, typical Vaillons in fine form, precocious showing of green fruits, racy, wrapped in minerals. The sunny harvest seems to have added a textured sleekness. Easy to like but serious, too, and faithful to its terroir. (Issue 63; 2019)"

92 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons bursts from the glass with a pretty, aromatic bouquet of citrus blossom, white peach and spring flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and expressive, with an open-knit, satiny-textured core, tangy acids and a precise, mouthwatering finish. From bottle, this confirms Didier Séguier's confidence and merits a higher score than I gave it from barrel. Drink: 2019-2035. (Apr 2019)"
