95 points Wine Spectator: "A mellow version, this exhibits plum, incense, floral, spice, menthol and tobacco aromas and flavors. Shows a spine of serious tannins, remaining harmonious and long. Delivers an extra kick on the aftertaste. Best from 2023 through 2043. 416 cases made, 150 cases imported. (4/30/20)"

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Rose, woodland berry and balsamic aromas of eucalyptus and pine are front and center on this fragrant red. The full-bodied, compelling palate has structure and finesse, delivering red cherry, cranberry, licorice and orange zest set against a backbone of assertive but noble tannins. Drink 2025–2035. Alcohol 14.5%. (Dec 2019)"

95 points James Suckling: "Aromas of flowers and cedar with plums and beeswax. Full-bodied, chewy and very structured. Very linear and tight. Needs three or four years to come together. Try in 2023. (11/7/19)"

93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Fenocchio's Barolo Villero is quite sensual and inviting in 2015, which is probably a reflection of the year, as wines from this Castiglione Falletto site tend to be quite reticent, especially when young. Spice, menthol, licorice, dried flowers and pine grow with time in the glass. The Villero is another impressive, showy wine in this lineup. Drink: 2022-2040. (Nov 2019)"
