93+ points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "The 2010 Chianti Classico Riserva is host to a beautiful mix of black mineral, fruit, dried mint and eucalyptus. The wine shows elegant evolution in the glass and backs it up with dry, polished tannins. This is a stunning effort available at a reasonable price. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2028. (Aug 2013)"

93 points and 'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "This gorgeous Chianti Classico has multifaceted aromas of blue flower, red berry, black plum, spice and a whiff of leather. The structured, juicy palate offers a core of ripe black cherry accented by cinnamon-spice and a touch of mocha alongside firm, polished tannins. It has both structure and finesse and should age beautifully. Drink 2015-2022. Alcohol 13.5%. (Apr 2014)"

92+ points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "Classicists, on the other hand, will flip out over the 2010 Chianti Classico Riserva. Black cherry, plum, smoke and menthol notes all jump out of the glass. The 2010 is translucent yet also rich, powerful and impeccably balanced. Ideally readers should cellar the 2010 for at least a few years, but that is going to be difficult considering how beautiful the wine is today. Drink: 2014-2030. (Aug 2013)"

92 points James Suckling: "A solid wine with beautifully integrated tannins and juicy fruit. Lovely austerity and all in balance. A real beauty. Drink or hold. (11/6/13)"

92 points and 'Year's Best Tuscan Reds,' Wine & Spirits: "Sourced from 50-year-old vineyards near Chianti Classico’s southern edge, this riserva is made entirely of sangiovese, aged for 12 months in Slavonian casks and used French oak barrels. Its intense aromas of Maraschino cherries, herbs and spices lead into flavors of spicy black fruit, earthy mushrooms and high-toned herbs, the firm but fine-grained tannins and nervy acidity centering the wine. A fine example of traditional Chianti Classico Riserva, this is pleasurable now but will be even better with a few more years in bottle. (Apr 2015)"

90 points Wine Spectator: "Firm and juicy, exhibiting raspberry, cherry, black tea and tobacco flavors. An earthy element emerges on the long and grippy finish. Drink now through 2022. (8/31/13)"
