92+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Another of the highlights of the range is the 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Combottes, a lovely wine that wafts from the glass with aromas of sweet wild berries, cherries, potpourri and a generous application of toasty new oak that will settle down with a bit of bottle age. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, velvety and nicely concentrated, structured around rich, powdery tannins and lively acids, concluding with good length on the finish. Drink: 2021-2037. (Nov 2019)"
17/20 points Jancis Robinson: "Mid crimson. A little darker fruited than the Chambolle Clos Le Village but still fragrant. Rounded, supple tannins with excellent depth of red fruit on the palate. Lots of elegant pleasure. Drink: 2020-2027. (1/17/19)"
This cuvée comes from a plot located along the axis of the valley of the village, in an area Gilbert thinks that he and Ghislaine Barthod probably share the best part (above that of Roumier). One of the densest wines among the Felettig stable of 1er crus, so this requires time, but patience will most certainly be rewarded.
