93 points Wine Spectator: "[$60 list] Lush and inviting, with cassis, creamed plum and boysenberry puree flavors gliding through on a very polished structure, while anise, mocha and tobacco accents check in on the finish. A seductive style. Drink now through 2028. (6/15/19)"
92 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate): "The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is blended of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller portions of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, aged for 19 months in 30% new French oak. The core of the fruit comes from the Coombsville estate blended with some mountain and valley floor fruit from elsewhere. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it offers a beautiful core of ripe blackcurrants, blackberries and lavender with nuances of cedar chest, pencil lead and camphor plus a waft of tilled soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a nice, firm backbone of ripe, grainy tannins and well-played freshness delivering a long, vibrant finish. Drink: 2018-2032. (Dec 2018)"
Producer notes: "The 2016 Faust Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of our estate vineyards in Coombsville and Rutherford combined with mountain sourcing from vineyards in Atlas Peak, Mount Veeder and Howell Mountain. Fans of the 2015 Faust will love the 2016, with notes of dark chocolate, blue and black fruit, and dried herbs balanced by silky tannins and lifting acidity. Rated 90+ points or higher for the last five consecutive vintages."
