96 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "The wine has an inky dark colour and pronounced aromas of blackberry, fig, smoke and spice. The texture is lush, yet there are firm tannins and the wine never seems overbearing or aggressive - everything is kept in elegant balance. Faiveley is the proprietor of three parcels that total 1.27ha in the Clos de Vougeot, including a portion in Grand Maupertuis and two parcels nearer the bottom. The fruit was picked very ripe (14.5%) and partially destemmed before fermentation, with a very careful extraction and ageing in cask (half new). Drinking Window: 2025 - 2050. (1/17/22)"

93-96 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A dense purple but not black. Deep dark fruit also on the palate, firm tannins, even a little youthful bitterness, which helps to tame the fact that the alcohol is a little bit higher here. Nothing dried out, this is just a Clos Vougeot on a relatively large scale. (Nov 2021)"

95 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "Coming from the center and lower portions of the Clos, Jérôme remarked that this can ripen quickly if the vines receive a bit of water as harvest comes around. This has a svelte palate feel with a lightly creamy and mouthcoating texture nicely juxtaposed by integrated acidity. The tannins are chunky but smooth. Tiny blackberries flit across the palate and into a long finish. 2025-40."

93-95(+) points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is excellent, unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berry fruit, cassis, orange rind and spices, framed by a deft touch of classy new oak. Full-bodied, layered and muscular, it's rich and concentrated, with lively acids and a long, resonant finish. This is one site that clearly thrived in this warm, dry vintage. (Jan 2022)"

94 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$490 list] An intense red marked by oak spices, yet this is also pure, with complementary cherry, raspberry, sandalwood and stony mineral flavors. Silky and fluid, with a well-integrated structure, excellent balance and a long, complex aftertaste. Best from 2026 through 2043. 25 cases imported. (3/1/23)"

92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru, comes from three parcels, two at the bottom and one in the middle) has a slightly ripe and more outgoing bouquet than the Echézeaux with wild strawberry, raspberry, touches of brown sugar and kirsch. Surprisingly sweet towards the finish, this almost overdelivers in terms of fruit, though it is just missing a little finesse on the finish. Still, it feels harmonious and minerally and I suspect will age well in bottle. Drink: 2025-2048. (Dec 2021)"

92-94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(blended from 3 separate lieux-dits, two near the bottom and one near the top). This is also aromatically restrained with its ripe mix of black and red raspberry, plenty of earth and discreet spice and wood wisps. I very much like the texture of the round, rich and markedly powerful big-bodied flavors that deliver outstanding length and solid depth on the compact finale where the only nit is a touch of warmth. Patience advised. Drink: 2035+ . (Jan 2022)"
