97 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "This is open and inviting on the nose with pronounced peach blossom notes and a touch of patisserie. Vinous and mouthfilling, this is surprisingly voluptuous for the vintage. Baking spice complements the intense fruit vibrancy, and the discreet saline touch at the end focuses unctuous finish. This is remarkably suave. These vines were planted in 1985 and 1997 and purchased by Faiveley in 2008. (2023)"

96 points Sarah Marsh, MW (The World of Fine Wine): "A broad and generous palate. Concentrated, deep, juicy, and vigorous. Expressive and inviting. Quite vivacious on the long finish. 2027–35. (Issue 79; 2023)"

96 points CellarTracker.com community score.

94-96 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Broadly speaking, the Bâtard comes from the top of the same rows as the Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet. A fuller but fresh yellow, with an immediate sense of concentration on the nose. This is the easier to read of the two and does not show its wood (50% new). Useful citrus touches help to freshen the finish. An impressive length of aftertaste. Drink from 2029-2036. (Nov 2022)"

93-95 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "More muscular and introverted than the expressive Bienvenues, Faiveley's 2021 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru reveals aromas of pear, yellow apple, toasted nuts and white flowers, followed by a full-bodied, deep and layered palate that's tensile and structured. (Jan 2023)"

93-95 points/'Very Fine+,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The Batard is a big wine, but does not show a low-yield character. Still, it has plenty of oomph. Let’s face it: Batard can carry a lot of fruit weight, and it seems like its intrinsic balance is showing well in the 2021 vintage. Vivid as always, this has lovely minerality. Drink from 2030. (12/19/22)"

92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2021 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is more backward and surly than the Bienvenues at this stage, less "welcoming". The palate is well balanced with a tangy entry, orange rind and lemon peel, touches of grapefruit towards the finish, though the Bienvenues has more cohesion. Still commendable given the season. Drink: 2025-2040. (Jan 2023)"
