94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2017 Petite Sirah is superb. Inky, rich and deep, the 2017 captures the essence of what makes Petite so special. Time in the glass brings out a whole range of lavender, spice, menthol and licorice overtones. There is some reduction (which is common with Petite), so the 2017 needs to be opened well in advance. The tannins, often an issue with Petite, have largely been tamed. Drink: 2021-2030. (Aug 2020)"

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$37 list] Inky dark in the glass, this bottling from the Fess Parker family's vineyard starts with tarry tones before opening toward aromas of smoked beef ribs and black currant jam. It's a mouthful of wine on the palate, presenting blueberry, smoked meat and crushed stone, hitting all the dark grape's classic marks. Alcohol 15.1%. (Aug 2020)"

Producer notes: "Epiphany Petite Sirah is a powerhouse, sourced completely from Rodney’s Vineyard on the Fess Parker Home Ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley. The opaque, purple hue gives great cues of blueberry, blackberry, and tar on the nose. You’ll even pick up some baking spices, including vanilla, and even a hint of smoked meat. On sipping, your mouth will taste reinforcements of blueberry and plum, along with dark chocolate, nutmeg, vanilla, and grilled herbs."
