95 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "Still very youthful, but the apricot, lemon-curd and lemon-balm aromas are already very present. Astonishingly pure and bright, this dry riesling miraculously marries power and delicacy. Persistent, salty finish. Long aging potential. Try in 2019. (9/19/18)"
94 points/'Highly Recommended,' Wine Spectator: "This well-crafted, mineral-infused white has a velvety texture, with aromas of lemon oil and tarragon leading to flavors of quince and elderberry that show hints of white pepper and cardamom. This is firmly structured, and the acidity is powerful right now, but all the elements suggest this needs several years to find balance. Best from 2022 through 2032. 300 cases imported. (2/28/19)"
93 points David Schildknecht (Vinous): "In describing this bottling’s 2016 predecessor I led with the following: 'Even more effusively floral than its Frühtau counterpart, this offers iris, violets and lily-of-the-valley.' That description holds as well for this 2017, where those characteristics also translate into musky, bittersweet inner-mouth perfumes. There are the lusciously juicy white peach and subtly green, clover-chomping counterpoint familiar from this year’s 'Frühtau,' now in the context of enhanced textural refinement and buoyancy. Along with finishing salinity comes a complex, mouthwatering meaty-nutty-mineral savor akin to mussel stock. Drink: 2019-2028. (Apr 2019)"
