87 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Made from 100% Tempranillo brought up all in tank, the 2017 Protocolo Tinto is well worth checking out and has a blackcurrant, black cherry, and earthy, spicy profile as well as medium body, plenty of texture, and a charming, gulpable style. Drink up. (9/6/19)"
Producer notes: "100% Tempranillo from vineyards that are 2,700 ft. in elevation with clay-limestone soils. Ruby red with violet hues, clean and very brilliant. Aromas of Fruity, raspberry, red fruits; very characteristic of the variety. Light notes of vanilla and spice. On the palate, medium-bodied, good equilibrium of tannins and acidity. Finishing with notes of raspberry, vanilla and light notes of wood. Barrel aged for 3 months in 1-3-year-old American oak."
