91-94 points/'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from Les Malconsorts, Chaumes and Petits Monts; 20% whole clusters). A moderately toasty and menthol-inflected nose is comprised by notes of black raspberry, cassis and spicy jasmine tea. The very rich and lush medium-bodied flavors possess surprisingly good power and minerality along with a copious of dry extract that does a good job of buffering the very firm tannic spine on the muscular, serious and built-to-age finish. 91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2017 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru comes from three lieux-dits: Les Charmes, Les Petits-Monts and Aux Malconsorts. It has a very composed bouquet of ample ripe raspberry, crushed strawberry, veins of blue fruit and a touch of crushed stone. The palate is well balanced with supple tannin and a fine bead of acidity. A light oyster shell note pokes up toward the harmonious, velvety finish. This is going to be very seductive. 92+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The Vosne “Premier Cru” bottling is made from purchased grapes from the vineyards of Petits Monts, Chaumes and Malconsorts, which is a pretty impressive combination. The 2017 vintage is only the second for this cuvée and it is quickly becoming a favorite of mine in their lineup, as the wine offers up a very complex and refined bouquet of red and black raspberries, sweet dark berries, duck, Vosne spices, raw cocoa, dark soil tones and cedar. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, elegant and vibrant in personality, with a lovely core of gently sappy fruit, fine soil signature, fine-grained tannins and lovely length and grip on the beautifully balanced finish. Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "A new wine – actually the 2nd vintage – three good suppliers including petits monts, malconsorts and chaumes. A narrow nose that slowly grows into a wide band of finely spiced fruit. Depth layered, delicious and complex. An excellent debut for this wine, a nice diminuendo of finishing flavour! (Dec 2018)"
