96 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The Dönnhoff family’s 2021 Hermannshöhle Spätlese is even a touch lower in octane than the Brücke, coming in at an even eight percent alcohol (compared to 8.5 percent for the Brücke) and delivering a very refined aromatic constellation of apple, tart orange, sweet grapefruit, a hint of menthol, white flowers, a gorgeously complex base of slate, wild yeasts, fruit blossoms and citrus zest. On the palate the wine is pure, medium-full and filigreed, with lovely depth, great mineral drive and grip, ripe, zesty acids and a beautifully balanced and very precise, complex finish. This is stunning Spätlese. 2023-2075+. (Mar/Apr 2023)"
95 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "From the southeast-facing part of the vineyard, the 2021 Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese is very clear, pure and flinty on the concentrated nose. Sweet, refined and very elegant on the palate, this is a weightless, saline and filigreed, playful Spätlese with great balance and delicacy. Not dramatic but quiet and in beautiful balance. 8% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2022. Drink: 2022-2070. (Aug 2022)"
