98 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "The 2019 Riesling Beerenauslese Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle is clear and refined on the precise and crystalline nose that offers very fine raisin aromas intertwined with the typically delicate slate spiciness of the Hermannshöhle. Rich, intense and crystalline on the palate, with remarkable, highly refined acidity and lingering mineral tension, this is possibly the finest BA I have tasted from Dönnhoff so far. The acidity is incredibly sharp and cuts through the delicate fruit like a knife. The sweetness is only piquant and salty here, and everything is perfectly interwoven (and will be after many years of bottle aging). The 2019 has a stimulating grip, and everything is so playful, harmonious and in a tensioned balance. This is a very digestible BA. Drink: 2030-2070. (Aug 2020)"
98 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The vast majority of Beerenauslese I have tasted from the Dönnhoff family over the years have hailed from the Brücke vineyard in Oberhäusen, so I was quite surprised this year to see the 2019ers arrive and find a BA from the Hermannshöhle! The wine is breathtakingly beautiful on the nose, wafting from the glass in a complex constellation of pineapple, white cherry, a touch of papaya, honeycomb, a lovely touch of slate minerality, honeysuckle and orange blossoms. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and dancing, with a great core of fruit, fine mineral undertow, zesty acids and laser-like focus on the long, complex and seamlessly balanced finish. This is brilliant! 2020-2080. (Jul/Aug 2020)"
