96 points James Suckling: "So much spice is the first impression here, this blended expression is well established as a powerful and complex style of pinot. Fresh red-cherry, potpourri, orange-peel, dried-flower, pomegranate and red and dark-cherry aromas, to name a few. The palate has such concentrated and layered style with dense red-cherry, blueberry and black-cherry flavors, delivered in a seamless build that holds so long. Impressive quality here. Drink or hold. (6/2/21)"

94 points Josh Raynolds (Vinous): "Deep, glistening scarlet. Ripe, spice- and smoke-tinged aromas of black raspberry, cherry cola and musky flowers on the perfumed nose. Juicy red and dark berry liqueur flavors are braced by a core of smoky minerality and pick up allspice and mocha nuances with aeration. Concentrated as well as lively, with no rough edges and a sexy floral quality that emerges on the persistent finish, where rounded tannins lend shape and gentle grip. Drink: 2022-2028. (Aug 2020)"

93+ points Erin Brooks (Wine Advocate): "The 2017 Pinot Noir Evenstad Reserve has a medium ruby-purple color and dark, broody fruits on the nose, laced with classy notes of cardamom, tea leaves and chocolate. The palate is silky, seamlessly fresh and surprisingly layered, suggesting it will improve with some more time in the cellar. Drink: 2021-2028. (Dec 2020)"

93 points Wine Spectator: "Precise and sleekly structured, with expressive cherry, savory spice and orange zest aromas that take on flesh and elegant tannins on the lingering finish. Drink now through 2027. (11/15/20)"

92 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "This is aromatically similar to the Yamhill cuvée with just a bit more spice elements, all of which is trimmed in a touch of menthol. There is a noticeably finer texture to the vibrant and well-detailed medium weight flavors where the underlying power really starts to build as the bitter pit fruit and youthfully austere finish fans out. While not the biggest wine in the range, this is clearly built-to-age and a wine that will need it. Drink: 2027+. (Oct 2020)"

Producer notes: "An exquisite expression of our multi-faceted terroir, the 2017 ‘Evenstad Reserve’ Pinot Noir is robust and perfectly balanced, offering a complete harmonious experience for the senses. A deep ruby hue resulting from a long, gentle extraction entices. The nose reveals bursting aromas of fresh blackberry and cherry compote. On the palate, the wine undulates with a velvetly texture and composed tannins, with a crescendo of flavors from exotic spice, forest underbrush, freshly-cut mushrooms and dark fruit. Another truly stunning offering to enjoy now, but also to cellar for graceful aging."
