97 points James Suckling: "This is a fabulous top cuvée now with superb length and complexity. Compact palate with cooked apples, lemons and flint. Muscular and formed. Very, very serious. One for now or the cellar. (9/2/19)"

95-96 points Tyson Stelzer (The Champagne Guide): "(disgorged January 2017; roughly 30% chardonnay, mostly from Avize and a little from Villers-Marmery; 65% pinot, mostly from Aÿ, Verzenay, Bouzy and Ambonnay; 5% meunier, mostly from Pierry; aged 9 years on lees; 8.5g/L dosage; cork). A beautifully bright, pale straw hue for 12 years of age, this is a cuvée that rejoices in the grilled toast of reduction in concert with the buttered-toast allure of long lees age. Within the tempered and contemplative mood of Deutz, there is exuberance here, as vanilla custard melds with flamboyant complexity of orange rind, apricot tart, honey, white fruit cake and persimmon. The fleshy shape of pinot noir defines its generous succulence, with the creamy silkiness of long lees age, while vibrant acid line and fine, salty chalk minerality draw out a long and focused finish. This is a subtly complex and full style, within the ever elegant mood that is William Deutz. Bottles tasted in Champagne show a little more focused lemon and apple freshness. (2020-2021)"

95 points Wine Enthsuast: "[$150 list] One of two flagship wines from this producer, this is named after the founder of the company. It shows all the elegance and style for which the house is known. Mature fruit, a touch of brioche and toast, and a dry aftertaste all make for an impressive wine that is ready to drink. Alcohol 12%. (Dec 2018)"

93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2007 Brut Millésimé William Deutz is a very pretty wine that is starting to show the first signs of aromatic maturity. Honey, vanilla, baked apple tart, smoke, slate, almond and spice notes add intensity to a core of orange confit and apricot fruit. The 2007 is overt and creamy, with attractive tropical overtones, and yet it very much retains the mid-weight sense of structure that is such a Deutz signature. Drink: 2018-2028. (Nov 2018)"
