92-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Excellent glowing purple, with a liveliness that continues on to the palate, with a sweet ripe raspberry note and enough acidity behind. This is still in the domaine’s refined and unobtrusive style, but with very good length. (Nov 2020)"
90-93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from 4 parcels of 30+ year old vines aggregating 1 ha). A highly perfumed and vaguely exotic nose offers up notes of red berries, lavender, rose petal and a hint of cinnamon. The super-sleek, intense and more concentrated flavors exude a refreshing salinity on the balanced, long and more complex finale. Lovely. Drink: 2027+. (Jan 2021)"
The Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes comes from an east-facing one hectare block of 43 year old vines at 270 meters altitude. There is a thin layer of soil of primary limestone rock; the vines’ roots descend in the fissures of the rock. It is at once powerful, complex, structured and elegant, packed with dark fruit and mineral notes.
