91-94 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Rich deep purple with a lighter rim. Great elegance. Plums, violets, little dark red fruits, quite sweet on the attack, tails in nicely behind. The ripeness of fruit makes this wine seem less mineral than usual. Cusp of dark fruit, still very long and a little bit spicy. Ripens earlier than Clos St Jacques and was picked earlier. (Nov 2019)"

91-93 points/'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from 40+ year old vines from a parcel that measures .87 ha). A much more deeply pitched nose exhibits notes of plum, cassis and the sauvage while also being trimmed in hints of wood and menthol. There is good volume and evident power to the succulent yet muscular larger-scaled flavors that display focused power and drive on the saline-inflected, firm and youthfully austere finish. This robust effort will require extended patience. Drink: 2033+. (Jan 2020)"
