The already quite beautiful bouquet delivers a superb and absolutely classic blend of cherries, plums, raw cocoa, a very complex base of minerality, gamebird, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and properly reserved out of the blocks, with a great core of sappy fruit, beautiful soil signature, ripe, seamless tannins and great length and grip on the focused, perfectly balanced and oh, so promising finish. As is virtually always the case, this is more aromatically elegant and spicier and in 2017 the nose of essence of raspberry, cherry, violet and soft herbal tea notes is also notably spicier. There is excellent richness and a highly beguiling vibrancy to the well-detailed and stony medium-bodied flavors that deliver a lovely combination of punch and finesse on the sneaky long finish.
