96 points Wine Spectator: "[$49/750ml list] Ripe, sweet cherry and raspberry fruit are accented by floral, mineral and wild herbs in this alluring red. A backbone of dense, dusty tannins provides support, and the ripe fruit returns on the savory finish. Excellent length. Best from 2023 through 2043. (6/30/21)"

94 points James Suckling: "Plum, ripe-berry and floral aromas with hints of sandalwood and fresh mushrooms. It’s full-bodied with firm, ripe tannins and a fresh, crushed-stone finish. A little timid now. Give it another two or three years. Try after 2023. (11/11/20)"

94 points International Wine Report: "Eclectic and pronounced it shows attractive notes of cherries, red plums, salted caramel and pressed red flowers. Sweet secondary notes of shelled almonds. Full body, fine-grained velvety tannins and a tight, vertical finish. Better from 2021."

93 points Eric Guido (Vinous): "The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino shows mineral-laced black cherries with earth tones and hints of tanned leather. It’s soft in texture with a polished display of ripe berries and savory spice, as zesty acids create a juicy expression while slow-mounting tannins collect upon the senses. This turns dry and structured toward the finale, yet with the balance for a long and steady evolution in the cellar. This is really very nice. Drink: 2024-2034. (Nov 2020)"

93 points Michaela Morris (Decanter): "Prior to acquiring the Altesino estate, Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini purchased Caparzo in 1998. The property includes 28 hectares designated for Brunello and this estate bottling amalgamates vineyards from four distinct areas with different exposures and soils. The 2016 is charming with a delicate lightness and lively brightness. Violet, rosemary and liquorice aromas lead to cool mint and brambly notes on the palate. Easy flowing and seamless with smooth tannins and a dusty cherry finish. Drinking Window: 2022-2030. (Mar 2021)"

92 points Wine & Spirits: "The team at Caparzo culls sangiovese for this Brunello from estate vineyards in four different zones of montalcino, varied in soil and elevation. Those components combine in a balanced and harmonious wine, its flavors of crunchy red cherry and black cherry layered with notes of dried herbs, underbrush and a hint of cocoa. Chewy tannins and a bright core of acidity suggest the wine will bring pleasure over the next decade. (Spring 2022)"

92 points Falstaff: "Dark ruby red. Slightly flowery on the nose, violets, then citrus accents of oranges and lemons, however, develops in the glass and opens after some time on red berry nuances paired with noble savouriness. Shows up on the palate with fine polish, elegant cranberry fruit, has many layers and great drive, seems very balanced, gripping tannin on the finish. (3/19/21)".
