Producer notes: "The idea behind Clos Ladybug Casserole began in 2017 when owner and winemaker, Doug Tunnell and the team realized late in harvest there were small bins left of Gamay and Pinot Noir. Tunnell suggested that the leftover grapes be thrown together in a single fermentor since all the grapes grew next to each other and it is a known concept that what grows together goes together. The style was to be very similar to the Burgundian 'passe tout grain' which is a village-level Cuvee of Gamay and Pinot Noir. As Tunnell attempted to explain this style of wine to his team, the comparison of the whole process is similar to a casserole was brought up, and the wine was born. This blend is almost fifty/fifty estate-grown Pinot Noir and Gamay, with a touch of Chardonnay, added for texture. Aromatically the wine is bright with a nose full of ripe red fruit, fresh earth, and a hint of violets. On the palate, the wine is refreshing with notes of bramble, banana, raspberries and cranberry sauce. It is delicious with a bit of a chill to it. Alcohol 13.1%."
