92-95 points and 'Don't miss!/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "Here the oak/menthol influence on the spicy aromas of plum, cassis and soft earth is more moderate though it's still far from subtle. There is both excellent volume and precision to the delicious, sophisticated and energetic medium-bodied flavors that possess a taut muscularity before concluding in a gorgeously complex and persistent finish. This is pretty much textbook Les Cailles though one that is also clearly in need of extended cellaring. Drink: 2031+. (Apr 2018)"

92-94 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "(not much frost here): Healthy dark red-ruby. The nose offers a tight, sappy core of medicinal red cherry, blackberry, blueberry, licorice and rocky minerality. Densely packed yet light on its feet, with its black and purple berry flavors complicated and enlivened by saline minerality. Finishes energetic and very long, with lingering salinity, the firm tannins arriving late. Superb potential from this top site. (Jan 2018)"

90-94 points Fine Wine Review: "Violets aromas are followed on the palate by red fruits and good minearlity. The wine is light on the tongue and shows good penetration. The vines here are about 40 years-old, 25% whole clusters, about 30-33% new oak. (3/9/18)"

93 points Wine Spectator: "[$145 list] A straight-ahead, fruity style, featuring cherry, raspberry, spice, underbrush and iron aromas and flavors. Just when you think this is open and approachable, the assertive tannins kick in. Best from 2023 through 2040. 200 cases imported. (2/13/19)"

92 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Crisp, intense purple. The bouquet indicates a wealth of ripe but fresh fruit, mainly in the raspberry register, with impressive intensity. Not as full-bodied as some and we are definitely in red fruit territory here, with good fresh acidity. Just ripe enough. Tasted: September 2019."

92 points Anne Krebiehl (The World of Fine Wine): "Rather plump, almost fleshily ripe cherry on the nose. The palate has a firm, upright bearing. The fruit is reined in by freshness and tannin. This still has to balance out. Muscular and bold. (Issue 59; 2018)"

92 points Tim Atkin, MW (Jan 2018).
