94 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "Often picked last among Bouchard Père's white wine vineyards -as was the case in 2018 - this comes from a parcel in Les Charmes-Dessous that was planted in the mid-1950s. Racy, zippy and chiselled, it's one of those wines that reflects its proximity to Puligny-Montrachet, finishing with notes of aniseed and citrus and stylishly integrated 15% new wood. Drinking Window: 2022-2030. (Oct 2019)"

93 points World of Fine Wine: "Pure, intense, very complex, very tight, very restrained and subtle. Smoke on the finish, very fine and elegant: linearity made flesh. (Issue #67; 2020)"

91-93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Aromas of crisp orchard fruit, dried white flowers, blanched almonds and fresh pastry introduce the 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes, a medium to full-bodied, layered and enveloping wine that's muscular and structured, with good depth at the core and a lively, saline finish. (Jan 2020)"

91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2018 Meursault Charmes 1er Cru has a rich, generous bouquet of dried honey and pressed yellow flower aromas; a touch of walnut emerges with time in the glass. The palate is taut and fresh on the entry, displaying a little more tension than the Gouttes d’Or, and demonstrates pleasing mineralité and complexity on the finish. Wonderful harmony here. Excellent. Drink: 2022-2038. (Jan 2020)"

91-93 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Lower slope. Clear pale yellow. Picked relatively late, cooler deeper soil. Still in barrel. Plump white fruit. Excellent tension to this, some yellow fruit notes towards the back, a fairly substantial wine but still with a fresh finish. (Nov 2019)"
